Seminar at Josai University in Tokyo

My old friend and colleague Takanori Ide started as professor at Josai University in Tokyo, Japan, in April 2024. Before that, he worked over 20 years at Aisin AW company, gathering tons of experience in industrial mathematics. Now that he is back in the academic world, he organized a wonderful workshop Inverse Problem Seminar: from Theory to Applications (Finland-Japan Seminar for Inverse Problems). I enjoyed meeting many of the senior gurus of our field, including my former postdoc host Masaru Ikehata, my long-term collaborator Hiroshi Isozaki, and Gen Nakamura, the analyst extraordinaire.

I gave a talk about combining AI methods with Ikehata’s classic Enclosure Method. This is a joint work with Takanori from 2020. You can get my slides here (PDF 30MB).
